answers@work began in 1992 as Answers Consulting Group providing human resources (HR) consulting in the areas of employee retention, recruitment, labor and employee relations, training, development, and compensation programs development. In 2002, "Answers" shifted its focus to creation and delivery of employee and leadership effectiveness surveys designed to enhance retention. While HR consulting to assist organizations with employee retention program development is still a strong business line for "Answers", clearly the future of the company would be delivery of the survey services to meet a growing demand. Answers Consulting Group became "answers@work", an application services provider (ASP) with employee retention consulting support for its survey services.
Our flagship employee survey, "eXIT – Know why your employees are leaving" gained a foothold in the marketplace in 2003. Customers liked the strong reporting capabilities of "eXIT" that revealed the causes of employee turnover down to the manager level, supported by comparative information so that the manager’s results could be compared to other managers in the same department, across the organization, within the industry and even across other industries.
In January, 2004, answers@work released the first of two new services "On Board – Know why your new employees are leaving". "On Board" research revealed that there were programs that best-practice organizations employed that ensured that newly-hired employees did not leave their organization prematurely. Three completed questionnaires assess the organization and the new employee’s manager in effectiveness in the hiring process, creating posthire bonds with the leader and co-workers, ensuring the job responsibilities aligned with pre-hire expectations, that new-hire training and orientation was effective, and other areas key to ensuring the employee has be effectively integrated into the workplace.
In April, 2004, answers@work delivered to the marketplace the final piece to assessing the employee’s satisfaction / engagement during the work life continuum from pre-hire to post-employment. "Imagine-How it could be." is an employee satisfaction/engagement survey that provides organization current employee’s opinions regarding key issues effecting their workplace and employment.
answers@work also offers an array of consulting services to support its survey programs. Consulting includes assistance to organization in development of programs and practices that would have a significant impact on reducing turnover and enhancing retention of quality new and tenured employees.
